Igor Sill, Managing Director, Hambrecht Geneva Ventures

Igor Sill is a Managing Director and co-founder of Geneva Venture Partners. He is also the Founder and Chairman of GenevaGroup International, Inc. Prior to forming GenevaGroup he served as Vice President for Visual Engineering, a 3D graphics software company, founding management team member of INGRES, and Director, Sales and Support for MicroPro International (renamed WordStar) during its high growth pre IPO period. He is also the co-Managing Partner of Hambrecht Geneva Ventures, a third venture fund he formed in 2006. He is also the Managing Director of Hambrecht Geneva Ventures, and Managing Director of Geneva Venture Partners I & II, a Limited Partner of Benchmark Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Brentwood Affiliates Fund I & II, Granite Ventures, Angel Partners Fund I (the Google investor), and Vertical Ventures LLC. Elon S. Boms, Founder and Managing Director of Launch Capital LLC, joins the Venture Capital community with significant finance, consulting and marketing experience. His venture capital experience includes structuring bio-tech, consumer products and software development deals. Most recently, Elon was a managing consultant at Fidelity Investments where he worked primarily on strategy initiatives for financial investments in emerging markets. Prior to his work with Fidelity, Elon worked in Corporate Finance for Citigroup. Elon began his career as a brand manager at Georgia Pacific Company�s Dixie Foodservice division, where he assumed responsibility for $25M in capital investments and engineered a complete profit turnaround for the paper cup business. This wide spectrum of experiences has enabled Elon to approach business from a holistic perspective and has instilled in him a passion for developing and investing in new business concepts.

Elon earned his M.B.A from the Yale School of Management where he graduated with distinction in venture capital and a concentration in finance. Elon completed his B.A. in Economics from George Washington University. Elon is an avid golfer, skier, and gourmet chef. He lives in Boston with his soon to be wife.

Michael Kane, Manager, Kestrel Asset Management

Michael Kane manages the Kestrel early-stage venture fund. Previously, Mr. Kane served as a Vice-President for Kane Is Able, Inc., a third-generation family-owned logistics company based in Scranton, PA. His responsibilities included strategic planning, financial management, and corporate governance. Prior to joining the family business full time, Mr. Kane co-founded and ran an internet start-up company from 1995-1997, worked in portfolio accounting for a Boston bank, and taught college courses in philosophy and history for twelve years.

Mr. Kane holds an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Boston College. He has also studied at Oxford University and Freiburg University, Germany.

Mr. Kane is a Leadership Council member of PathNorth, a national CEO group, the Business Leaders Network, a Philadelphia CEO group, and the Institute for Private Investors, where he is a member of the Advisory Faculty. He currently serves on the board of PharmMD, a Nashville health care company and has previously been the vice-president of a Pennsylvania land trust. He has spoken to family office groups and business leaders on portfolio management and investment strategies. In addition, Mr. Kane is a co-founder of "Pour Richard's Symposium", a Philadelphia group devoted to the discussion of ideas and the enjoyment of wine, in the spirit of Ben Franklin.

Mr. Kane and his wife Dorothea are the parents of three young children. His interests include spending time with family, hiking, reading, and traveling.

Kestrel Asset Management
Kestrel Asset Private Equity (KAPE) Fund is a venture capital partnership managed within a single family office. The Fund is not offered to outside investors.

The Fund invests in early stage and recap companies throughout the Eastern US. Potential companies need to have compelling growth opportunities and need to offer a solution to an existing, real-world problem. The Fund typically co-invests alongside an established venture fund which leads in a Series A preferred offering. KAPE may also on occasional lead or syndicate a round and participate in later stage investments or special situations.

The Fund is distinctive in its evergreen structure, which has advantages both to the limited partners of the Fund and to the entrepreneurs. The principal advantage is that all investment decisions are based solely on the prospects of the underlying company and not on the year of the Fund's life.

Todd Hixon, Managing Partner, New Atlantic Ventures (NAV)

Todd invests broadly in information technology businesses, with emphasis on companies that use "deep" technology to create commercial value. Kent Bennett, Vice President, Bessemer Venture Partners

Kent Bennett, a vice president in Bessemer's Cambridge, Mass. office, joined the company in 2008. Kent focuses on investments in the data-infrastructure, data-analytics and communications sectors.

At Bessemer, Kent has been involved in investments including data-management companies Streambase, Vertica, Endeca, Netuitive, and Portrait Software; mobile-communications companies BroadSoft, Millennial Media and Enforta; as well as in Goal.com, the world's largest soccer portal, and On-Q-ity, a cancer-diagnostics company.

Prior to joining Bessemer, Kent was a creative executive for an entertainment-production company, where he developed and sold original material including a network television pilot and a feature film. In 1872, Henry Phipps, Jr. and Andrew Carnegie co-founded Carnegie Steel, an innovative steel producer that commercialized an industrial process licensed from Lord Henry Bessemer. Norman Meisner, Angel Investor, Beacon Angels

Mr. Meinser has worked for nine startups as VP of sales or VP of business development yielding five acquisitions and one IPO. His expertise is in the areas of enterprise software, security and data communications. Most recently, he served as the VP of business development at Authentica, acquired by EMC in early 2006. He has been a private angel investor since 1998 and he led the angel round at Lumigent Technologies, where he served on the Board for 5 years. Saul Richter, Managing Partner, Emerald Stage2 Ventures

Mr. Richter has broad experience in the venture capital industry, having worked at a number of leading venture firms over the past 8 years. He brings to the Fund extensive experience performing due diligence and portfolio management through multiple venture cycles. Mr. Richter was most recently at Himalaya Capital, having joined in early 2002 as a Principal. Mr. Richter has significant investment experience and has been active on the boards of a number of companies. Mr. Richter additionally brings to Starling a strong technical background in software development and systems administration.

Prior to Himalaya, Mr. Richter worked at Lucent Technologies in the New Ventures Group, where he focused on the creation and launch of software startups. In addition to Lucent, Mr. Richter has prior venture capital experience working at Softbank Ventures (now Mobius Venture Capital), Jerusalem Global Ventures and Flatiron Partners. Mr. Richter additionally has operational experience as the founder of Zapper Technologies' US operations, where he formed and built out the company's US office. Mr. Richter has additional prior experience working in investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney and product development at Dubois, Brown & Co, now a division of SS&C Technologies (Nasdaq: SSNC).

Emerald Stage2 seeks to invest in small (generally $1 to $3 million) financing rounds of early stage information technology companies that utilize emerging technologies to create compelling business opportunities. While the Fund will invest across the information technology spectrum, its primary focus is on companies in the Technology-Enabled Services area. The fund's verticals of interest include:
